National
Youth Gathering in New Orleans
The next National Youth Gathering will be in New Orleans, Louisiana,
July 22-26, 2009.The theme is “Jesus, Justice and Jazz” and
will include many opportunities to
experience the culture of the CrescentCity
aswell as give
back to the community that is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina
almost
three years ago. Everyone attending the
gathering will be involved in service outreach to the city in one of
the following
areas: Housing, Literacy,Environ- ment, Arts & Culture, Health
& Wellness
or Wealth & Poverty. Even though the
gathering is a year away, it is time to start planning NOW for the
event.
We
will have a time of lunch and information on Sunday, August 24,
following the 10:00 service; all youth who will be in grades 8-12 in
2008-09 school year are invited to attend. Nick
and Katie Bates will be the adult
chaperones this year. Please plan to be
at the meeting as registration for the gathering opens September 15,
and we
want to register on the first day! If
you cannot make it and are still interested in going, please contact
Pastor
Wolfe.
